Story
The Pedalling Ploughmen are getting back on their bicycles for Doddie’s Triple Crown 2026, cycling 776 miles from Melrose to Dublin – via Leeds, Gloucester and Pembroke in aid of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. This is the charity set up by the late Scotland and British & Irish Lions lock Doddie Weir OBE. It is dedicated to finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), the currently incurable condition that damages the nerves that control voluntary muscle movement, leading to progressive muscle weakness, wasting, and eventual death.
The Pedalling Ploughmen are not seasoned cyclists, so we will be completing the challenge in a relay format, with two to three members of the team on the road at all times, but hopefully all riding into Dublin together on the final day. Doddie’s Triple Crown 2026 will take place over four days from 10th March, finishing at the Guiness Storehouse in Dublin on the eve of what will hopefully be an Ireland v Scotland Six Nations decider!
All of us know someone who has died or is currently enduring this cruel disease and we want to do all that we can to help find a cure. Please join The Pedalling Ploughmen in that endeavour by sponsoring us today. Thank you for your generosity.
