Six Rowers. One Dragon Boat. 10,000 Children Supported.

On 29th August 2026, The Ripple Effect—Lisa Jackson, Sarah Ellis, Christopher Searle, Nick Miller, Teresa Waller and Jane Boddington—will be taking on the Arundel Dragon Boat Race in support of Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur.

We're paddling to celebrate an extraordinary milestone: 10,000 children supported.

That's 10,000 young lives touched, thousands of families strengthened, and countless moments of support provided when it was needed most.

The name The Ripple Effect reflects exactly what Home-Start does. A little help at the right time can have a lasting impact, creating positive ripples that spread through families, communities and future generations. Through its dedicated volunteers and family support services, Home-Start has helped local families facing challenges such as isolation, poor mental health, financial hardship and the pressures that come with raising children.

As a team, we're proud to be playing a small part in celebrating this incredible achievement—and helping to ensure that support continues to be available for families across Arun, Worthing and Adur.

Now, none of us can claim to be Olympic-standard dragon boat racers, but we're ready to give it everything we've got. There will be plenty of paddling, lots of teamwork, a fair amount of determination, and almost certainly a few aching muscles the next day!
