Operation REMEMBRANCE – Three Marathons, Three Days, One Mission
In November 2025, a team of Army Reserve soldiers from 3 Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment will take on a challenge of physical and mental resilience, endurance, and robustness – all in support of the Royal Anglian Regiment Charity.
Across Friday 7th, Saturday 8th, and Sunday 9th November, the team will run three consecutive marathons. The first in Chelmsford, the second in Colchester, both in standard physical training kit. The third and final marathon will be back in Chelmsford, completing a loaded march, carrying patrol order and military equipment, including helmet and scalable tactical vest (combat body armour). We will finish on Remembrance Sunday, form up with the Chelmsford Parade, march through the streets and stand to attention for the Two Minutes’ Silence at 1100 hours – shoulder-to-shoulder with all who gather to honour the fallen. Remembering the courage, sacrifice, and service of all who defended our nation.
The Royal Anglian Regiment Charity provides vital support to serving and veterans of the Regiment, and their dependents during times of need or hardship. They do incredible work on behalf of the whole Regimental family, and that is why we are raising funds – so they can continue their outstanding mission.
Meet the Team:
WO2 Michael Ransley, served for over twenty-five years in the Regular Army and now two years with the Army Reserve. He has deployed on operations and exercises all over the world, including multiple operational deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, Northern Ireland, and Kosovo. Michael has raised vital funds for charities previously, in 2020 and 2021.
Private Katie Brazier has served in the Army Reserve for over a year and has recently graduated with a degree in Tourism. Katie has exercised in Germany and is set to begin her career in the Regular Army in January 2026.
Private Joe Ransom has served in the Army Reserve for over two years and recently returned from Operation INTERFLEX, delivering training to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Joe has exercised in America and Germany and is keen to build on his experience.
Three marathons. Three days. One mission. An exceptional test of endurance and robustness – done to honour those killed or wounded in action, and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
💙 Please support us if you can. Every donation – large or small – will help the Royal Anglian Regiment Charity continue its vital work for soldiers, veterans, and their families. TOGETHER, we will remember them.
