Story
In July 2025, we have challenged ourselves to take on the Cotswolds Mighty Hike to help raise money for people living with cancer.
We would be so grateful if you could help us reach our £250 pledge, (per person) which can pay for Macmillan Nurse for one day. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
The team consists of:
Teresa, Megan, Becky, Maureen, Heather, Imo, Jayne
Thank you!
"Having lost my dear friend Cathy Hobbs recently, an inspirational work colleague of many years, I thought that by signing up to a half marathon hike for Macmillan on Saturday 19th July 2025, would provide a great opportunity for me to be pro-active in her memory.
Cathy was a dynamic, powerhouse of a lady, who fought tooth and nail for children and young people and their families throughout her career, much of which was as a Headteacher. She had kindness as part of her DNA and was also great fun and loved a challenge. I know she would have asked me if I was mad doing this hike, after recently fracturing my foot, but Cathy taught me never to give up on your promises if it will make a difference to someone else.
I am doing this hike as part of a team of friends. All of us have different reasons for taking part and personally I would be so grateful if you could help us to reach our £250 pledge (per person), which can pay for a Macmillan Nurse for one day. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support"
