Story
Our new Patron, The Duchess of Norfolk and her friends are taking to the skies for a tandem skydive of 10,000ft!
They are literally throwing themselves out of the plane for this cause!
They want to raise vital funds for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust who are funding a Care at Home Team which includes nurses and counsellors who provide vital care to local families who are caring for a child with a life threatening or terminal illness such as cancer, brain tumours, heart & lung conditions.
Having the heard the impact of this Team and seen a nurse in situ at Fordwater school, in Chichester, they feel driven to contribute to this amazing work. The school educates children who have complex educational and medical needs.
The Care at Home Team are supporting 61 families in West Sussex where this dynamic trio live. The catchment area is a 15 mile radius of Chichester, West Sussex including Arundel to Emsworth and upto Midhurst.
The Trust must raise £500k a year to fund the Care at Home Team which includes this valuable nurse at the school. The impact of this special team is amazing and makes a huge difference to many local families who are experiencing the most difficult time in their lives as they navigate caring for their sick child.
Friend of the Duchess, Linda Woodhouse, lives in Burpham, with her husband, Mark and her doggies, Lucy & Bella. She had an executive career spanning 30 years until she decided to stop in 2018. Then in 2020, Linda was diagnosed with an incurable cancer. As she comments, " I've learnt to live with it and accept it with no fear. The work the charity does for children with a life threatening illness and the support they give to the parents is outstanding. Our West Sussex community needs this charity and your support. Having gone through two lots of surgery and chemo, i feel that i'm well placed to understand what these families are going through. P.S I am petrified of heights! "
Also, a good friend of the Duchess, Katherine Bergen Coughlin has lived in West Sussex for nearly 20 years and is delighted to support the Trust. Katherine says, " I'm thrilled to be joining the Trust's Patron, the Duchess of Norfolk and Linda in a tandem skydive, in what we three are calling 'Skydrop for Snowdrop'.
We would love you to show your support for the Sky drop for Snowdrop.
Please do find out more and donate...whether it's £5 or £5,000 - every penny does count!
