The Ulster Way Relay Runners fundraiser for The Jack Price Project

Relay Run
The Tale of the Ulster Way Ultra
On Friday and Saturday 6th and 7th of October a ragtag crew of seven eejits will be running west to east across Northern Ireland; doing it the hard way by hugging the coast along the meandering Ulster Way from Derry/Londonderry - via Cushendun and Belfast - to Holywood, all for a charity raising money for underprivileged children; to help feed, house and educate them, and ensure they have the basic rights that should be available to all children.
The 153-mile run will involve each person covering the distance of roughly two back-to-back marathons (doing overlapping relays) as the hills, coastal paths, valleys and vales of Northern Ireland’s glorious coastline are conquered.
The current cost of living and energy bill crises are hitting everyone hard, but these emergencies are perennial, longer-lasting and even more extreme in some of the world’s more remote places, and ensuring ongoing children’s support services are properly funded in those places is crucial.
We’re raising money for the Jack Price Project, which does just that. It’s a charity founded by people in our home village in Wales, and works to help improve life-chances for children and young adults in Bali who’ve had a tough break.
Alongside the staples of teaching and nourishing, the Jack Price Project currently provides a wide range of empowerment opportunities to over 300 children, young adults and their families in Indonesia; helping families learn new skills, opening doors to more sustainable independent living.
We would like to invite you make any donation, however small, towards our ambition of raising £2,000 for the Jack Price Project, so that we can continue to feed and teach underprivileged kids in Bali.
Many thanks.
PS - Although we’re a bunch of Gower-based runners from south Wales, one of us is genuinely Northern Irish, one other pretends to be, and the rest want to be.
PPS - We'll be having a few pints in Holywood on the Saturday night for any locals who want to join
Our runners are:
Colette Roberts
Kath O’Kane
Dan Belton
Andrew Hughes
Paul Crutcher
Nick Tune
Simon McWhirter
