Story

We need YOUR help as we attempt to conquer all 35km distance and 2.7km ascent of the Mourne Wall in just ONE day.

All from Scouts NI, we're a team of four Young People (Connor Black, Emma Weir, Kyle Gawn, and Sam Thompson) and four Leaders (Justin Gawn, Peter Wilson, Richard Crawford, and Tristan Gawn). We're taking on this EPIC challenge to raise funds for "The Wee Buns".

Here's a video from Justin, explaining why we're supporting The Wee Buns, and just how big this challenge is.

The Wee Buns is a group of 36 local Young People who are travelling to the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in late July. A World Scout Jamboree is not just a camp, it's a global gathering of 50,000 Young People as they explore each other's cultures, share life changing experiences, and build enduring international friendships.

Our Young People will return to Northern Ireland not only with broadened horizons, but as global citizens inspired to become our next generation of change-makers with a thirst to make the world, this country, and their local communities a better and more equitable place for everyone.

Your sponsorship of our Mega Challenge will support that journey of shared empowerment for our Young People.

The challenge we've set ourselves is a TOUGH one. A gruelling route usually tackled over two days; in addition to walking over 35km of rough terrain, in total we will ascend a whopping 2,740 meters. Spurred on by the generosity of your sponsorship, we will attempt to hike nonstop for ~14 hours to complete this feat in just ONE day.

Thank you for your generosity, and for your support of our amazing Young People.
