The White Lion, Sawston are backing John and are part of his motivational and fundraising team. We will be cheering him on throughout his training and supporting his fundraising.

John's reason for running is that he was inspired by his eldest daughter who ran the London Marathon in April 2024, he threw his name into the ballot for 2024 and will be running in 2025 in memory of his wife, who sadly passed away with cancer in 2022.

Out of 850,000 people that applied for a ballot space, he was very surprised and excited to receive a place as he have always wanted to run a marathon.

He decided to raise money for a very worthwhile charity, Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.

He also have 9 months to go from couch potato to a highly tuned athlete...!
