691 km Non-Stop Run: The Strasbourg to Egmont Relay for Jim · 29 July 2026

Our aim is to provide a holistic education to some of the most vulnerable children in Malawi and for them to know that if they work hard, they can change their lives and reach their potential. We will engage with local communities and aim to make sustainable positive improvements for all families.

Story

We are taking on an extreme 691km non-stop relay from Strasbourg to Egmond aan Zee in memory of Jim. Jim was passionate about the power of education to change the world. To honor his legacy and his beliefs, we are raising funds for a cause incredibly close to his heart: Changing Stars Malawi.

This project is called the 8th man as there are 7 core organisers, with Jim cheering us on from above.

Every single donation will directly contribute towards the building of a new school. By supporting this project, we hope to keep Jim's passion alive and provide transformative educational opportunities to children in Malawi.

The Challenge

To raise these funds, our team is tackling an extreme, self-supported endurance challenge inspired by the underground "Speed Project". Starting at 6:00 AM on Wednesday, July 29th, our team of 6 runners will run continuously—day and night—until we reach the finish line 70 hours later

To stay in the race, one member of our team must be moving on foot at all times. We will operate on a grueling schedule of one-hour running shifts followed by just fives hours of rest in our support campervan.

The Effort

Over the expected 65 to 75 hours, each runner will spend 12 to 13 hours on the road, covering roughly 120km. We are completely self-supported with our crew, and we are even looking forward to Jim's parents greeting us at their family home at the end.

How You Can Help?

This 691km journey will test our absolute physical and psychological limits, but we are running for something much bigger than ourselves.

Your support will give us the strength to push through the hardest parts of the night, and most importantly, it will help build a school that will change lives.

Please donate and help us build this school in Jim's memory!
