Story
I was diagnosed with scoliosis in 2011 and by March 2013, I had spinal fusion surgery. While the recovery was very challenging, I’m incredibly grateful for the experience as it completely shaped the path I’m on today. My experience post-surgery completely sparked my interest in healthcare, and it is the reason I’m now working as an Acute Dietitian.
This year, I’m taking on Scafell Pike — the highest mountain in England — alongside a group of 40+ people living with scoliosis and spinal fusions. Together, we’ll be completing a challenging but achievable 8-10 hour trek (…hopefully!).
Last year, this group climbed Snowdon through a storm and raised an incredible £27,000. It showed just how strong and capable people with scoliosis are, and what’s still possible after surgery.
For me, this challenge is not only about raising money for a brilliant cause, but also about connecting with others who truly understand the journey and proving to myself how far I’ve come.
We’re fundraising for Scoliosis Support & Research, the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting people with scoliosis and spinal fusion through awareness, support, and research funding.
Any support or donation would mean so much — thank you ❤️
