Sisters are doing it for… Cancer Research UK!

“1 in 2 people will develop some form of Cancer during their lifetime” - NHS. Sadly, our beloved family is no exception to this troublesome statistic. Cancer does not discriminate, as most of us know all too well.

On Sunday 8th September 2024 we will be taking part in the Great North Run in Newcastle:

Isobel - this will be my third half marathon in a decade. I ran the Great North Run in 2014 with my Dad & older brother, and Edinburgh in 2017. 10 years on I’m not feeling so confident. I’ll be relying heavily on the dependable Geordie atmosphere to get me through it again and I’ll without a doubt be shown up massively by my younger sister, Thea! Good job we’re not competitive…

Thea - this will be my first half marathon and I’m excited to be doing it with my sister for such a worthy cause. I do the ‘Park Run’ alongside my Mum most Saturday mornings and would fully encourage people to get involved if they can. It’s a brilliant way to improve physical and mental health, and experience a rare sense of united community spirit.

Cancer Research UK is a charity that our family has been proudly fundraising for since we were very young. They do an untold amount of work towards prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Cancer.
