The creative team of Beginners Please will be doing a Sponsored Sleep Out, in London on October 10 - World Homeless Day.

For our second year of Beginners Please, we are performing HOME by Nadia Fall. A fantastic display of issues that young people face with homelessness. This year we are working with people who have a lived experience of homelessness.

There is a huge barrier to accessing the performing arts for people who have suffered a socio-economic disadvantage. This has a knock-on effect into the professional theatre industry being disproportionately managed by people who have had more advantages than the average person, leaving important stories untold and a gap in our social understanding of the world around us.

Our programme engages with people who have always wanted to try acting in theatre, but due to previous circumstance, they haven't had the opportunity. We are working with people who have a lived experience of homelessness. Our programme will not only give them the opportunity to perform onstage, but it will build their confidence, communication skills, commitment skills and will build lasting and trusting relationships

IMPORTANT - The team are aware that this activity is not a reflection of a person's lived experience, but rather a gesture to create awareness and raise funds for a programme that supports people who have a lived experience of homelessness.
