Story
The Royal Oak in Chapel Ash has been at the heart of our community for 120 years. To celebrate this incredible milestone, we aren’t just raising a glass—we’re raising our heart rates!
On Saturday, 6th June, our community is coming together for "The Big 120" Challenge. From a 120-mile motorbike ride through Shropshire to a 120km relay run in West Park, we are pushing ourselves to the limit to support a cause that saves lives every single day: The Midland Freewheelers.
Why the Midland Freewheelers?
These "Blood Bikers" are 100% volunteers. They provide a free, emergency motorcycle courier service to the NHS, transporting blood, platelets, samples, and even breast milk between hospitals. They operate 24/7, 365 days a year, and rely entirely on public donations to keep their bikes on the road.
What we are doing:
8am: Old Duffers Motorbike Club - 120-mile trip.
9am: 12-mile Walk from Birmingham Women’s Milk Bank to New Cross.
10am: Netball Tournament at the Grammar School.
11am: 24 Runners completing 5k each at West Park (120km total).
11am: 20-mile Cycle Route.
Every penny raised goes directly to helping the Blood Bikers stay on the road. Please donate what you can—whether it's £1.20, £12, or £120—to help us celebrate our history by protecting our future.
