Alongside the initial campaign for cleaner rivers and seas, a parallel legacy initiative #LevelTheWater will run to ensure that every young person across the 10 Parishes area has the opportunity to swim in a clean and safe environment. The campaign will provide assistance for swimming lessons and access to swimming opportunities for individuals, youth organisations, and local schools. It will also support local children in training to become lifeguards and swimming teachers, helping to create skills, confidence, and long-term opportunities within the community.

For many, becoming a confident and competent swimmer, or achieving a lifeguard qualification, is a life-changing milestone. It is their “Big Swim.”
