'The Christmas Crackers', First Form pupils at Merchiston Castle School, have combined their creative musical talents to write and compose a sensational Christmas Single, titled 'The Spirit of Christmas'.

In the true spirit of the season, they would like to release this single to fundraise for a charity which is close to Merchiston’s heart: Edinburgh Food Project.

Edinburgh Food Project runs seven foodbank centres across the city offering emergency food parcels to people in crisis. These crucial parcels provide immediate relief from hunger and worry, giving people the opportunity to deal with other issues that may be affecting them.

Edinburgh Food Project also runs a FCA Accredited Money Advice Service offering debt, budgeting and benefit advice, and works with partners to help people find a way out of poverty for good.

We are delighted to be supporting all the incredible work this charity does and 'The Christmas Crackers' hope their music sends a message of hope and joy to everyone out there!
