Story

Get ready for an epic showdown! On June 18th, four of The Drift’s finest golfers will face off against four members of Team TRUE UK in a gruelling 104-hole Matchplay event. Yes, you heard it right—104 holes, with every single one played to the finish. Starting at the crack of dawn, 4:30 am, this marathon will test physical endurance and mental fortitude.

For golf enthusiasts, the course is both a sanctuary and a battleground. Some days, every swing feels perfect, and victory seems within reach. On other days, each hole challenges our very resolve. Yet, this unpredictability is the heart of the game. We keep coming back, driven by the thrill of the challenge and the joy of triumph.

Golf isn’t just a sport; it’s a mental game. Each swing and putt demands a delicate balance of focus, strategy, and calm. Beyond the game’s physical demands, it also offers surprising benefits for mental health. Amidst life's storms, many find peace in the game’s rhythm—the calculated angles, the graceful swings, and the sight of a ball soaring through the sky.

Now, eight of us are set to embrace this challenge and play 104 holes of this liberating sport. Our mission on June 18th goes beyond friendly competition; we’re playing to champion mental health by supporting Oakleaf. Since 1995, Oakleaf has been transforming lives through wellbeing activities, job training, employment support, and counseling.

With clubs in hand and a noble cause in our hearts, we’ll step onto the fairway. This endeavor might seem a bit mental, but it’s all for a good cause. Follow our journey on social media, or better yet, join us in person to cheer us on! More importantly, support our mission by making a donation—every little bit helps.

And if you’d like to join the fun by driving a support buggy and watching us navigate 104 holes, let us know. We need all the support we can get, and we promise plenty of laughs along the way. Let's demonstrate the power of the human spirit, one swing at a time!

Enjoy the Walk
