Story
Running 110km in under 12hrs to build a new school.
This year we are taking on a 110km ultramarathon along Hadrian’s Wall to raise money to build a new school.
It’s a tough physical challenge, but the reason behind it is what matters most.
We are fundraising to support children affected by conflict in Burma who currently do not have access to a safe, secure place to learn.
Why this matters
Burma has been in conflict for a very long time, and many families have been forced to leave their homes.
For children living in Mae Sot on the Thai/Burma border, access to education is very limited.
Building a new learning centre will give these children a safe place to learn and a real chance of a future full of opportunities.
Our goal
Our target this year is to raise £10000, 100% of which will go towards the materials to build a new school to support the education of children displaced and marginalised by war.
So far we have raised just over £4,000, which is an amazing start, but we still have a long way to go to reach our goal.
The challenge
This June, we will be running 110km along Hadrian’s Wall from Carlisle to Newcastle as part of The Wall ultramarathon.
That’s the equivalent of over 2.5 marathons, completed in under 12 hours.
It’s going to be a very tough physical challenge, but it’s all being done to raise money to build an amazing new school.
What your donation does
All donations go directly towards materials for building the school. This includes construction materials such as steel, timber, roofing and wall materials.
Your support will quite literally turn into classrooms later this year. Your donation will provide children with a place they can learn, play and have a real chance in life.
⏳ We are aiming to hit our target by the day of The Wall challenge - 13th June 2026
What happened last year
Last year we raised over £8,000 and were able to build an amazing school for 300+ children.
Building Trust International have been involved in multiple projects in this region for over 15 years and have seen the impact these schools have on thousands of children and their families.
If you would like to support
If you are able to donate then please do today. It would really mean a lot and if you can also share the page with your friends and family that would be so helpful to this amazing community.
