The Shire to Mordor Fellowship Walk · 2 May 2025

Boundary Outlet have chosen to support the British Heart Foundation for 2025/2026. Team members voted and chose the British Heart Foundation as cause close to many of their colleagues hearts.

Story

On July 13th, 2024, my life was forever changed.

My beautiful, talented, witty, clever, country music loving daughter Sinéad had a heart attack. Totally out of the blue... no symptoms.

She was given CPR by family until the Ambulance arrived and then the Air Ambulance. They managed to get her breathing but once at Nottingham Hospital and after a further heart attack and after 2 weeks of tests we were told she had suffered catastrophic brain damage, and her machine was switched off.

She died on 28th July in the early hours at just 24 years old.

Sinéad, who was Autistic, was just at the cusp of leading an independent life with newfound friends who loved, accepted and understood her, and a career choice decided thanks to her fantastic mentor at York St John University where she was studying for an Animation Degree.

Sinéad’s first job was at Boundary Outlet in the coffee shop and it's where I currently work as a Receptionist. I have had so much support from my friends and colleagues so it's now through Boundary Outlet that I would like to honour Sinéad by raising money for the British Heart Foundation.

Sinéad loved reading and we loved "The Lord of the Rings" as a family so what better way to honour her than to walk to Mordor!

Obviously not literally but, between us all, myself and my trusty "Fellowship" made up of Sinéad's friends and family are intending to walk those 1779 miles taken by Frodo whilst mapping our progress on a map of Middle Earth.

So, this summer we can walk for Sinéad whilst looking at the beauty that is still in the world and maybe listening to a bit of John Denver!

Please sponsor us on our quest if you can. Just £1 will make such a difference if everyone who reads this donates.

For Sinéad...

Thank you

Linda ( Mum)
