Dublin to Galway - Foley Family Cycle

Cycling the width of Ireland - Dublin to Galway · 4 July 2025
As a family we are cycling the width of Ireland (Dublin to Galway) to raise funds for Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross, Dublin.
We are setting off at the start of July with our 11 year old leading the way. We plan to make it from coast to shining coast in a week.
We are cycling in honour of my brother Lochlann who passed away in March aged 53. He lost his life to aggressive lung cancer, his illness was traumatic and brutal. The only saving grace was spending the last two weeks of his life in Our Lady's Hospice.
In the Hospice he was shown respect, treated with dignity, provided with gentle care and showered with kindness. He went from a chaotic and frightening hospital setting to a calm and comforting 'home'.
We didn't think it was possible, but to our great relief, he found his peace before he passed.
If you can spare it, please donate to this remarkable institution and share it on. The Hospice rely on donations to operate.
If you want to read more about my brother's final days I wrote about it in my column here - Running Out of Time: My Brother's Courage
