Story
Hi all,
As some of you know, my wife Ana and I welcomed our first little girl, Rose, in March this year. Alongside this huge moment of joy, Ana faced some complications that meant she spent over a week in intensive care at UCLH.
It wasn’t exactly the smoothest entry into parenthood (we’ll admit, we thought the sleepless nights would be the hardest part…). But despite the rocky start, we feel incredibly lucky to have been surrounded by healthcare professionals who showed not only extraordinary skills, but also a level of empathy, patience, and compassion that carried us and our families through a very tough time in the best way possible.
Luckily, Ana was able to fully recover and we are now looking for ways to give back to the wonderful people that took great care of her and our daughter at UCLH.
Given the new dad’s physique (and let’s be honest, his overall fitness level), we quickly ruled out the idea of raising funds by running a marathon. Instead, I’ll be taking on the Fulham 10K this November - aiming for a time that will hopefully not be too far off last year’s.
Every donation, big or small, will mean the world to us and will go directly to the maternity and neonatal departments at UCLH - helping ensure they can continue to care for families in need, just like they did for ours.
Thank you so much for your support, your generosity, and for cheering us on (even if you’re mostly just cheering for Ana and Rose - no hard feelings).
