Half Iron Man · 6 April 2025

The Link began in the late 1980's and is the oldest link between UK NHS workers and a foreign hospital. Our main purpose is to relieve sickness in Muheza District Tanzania and a key way of achieving this is by facilitating exchange visits of health workers between Herefordshire and Tanzania.

Story

I am raising money for St. Augustine's Hospital in rural Tanzania which I will be vising for 6 weeks during my medical elective in May.

The invaluable work being done here has had a hugely positive impact on the local community, including reducing HIV rates, mortality for both mothers and babies in childbirth, and introducing palliative care to the region.

All this progress is now in jeopardy due to the international aid cuts occurring across the globe, and this community needs our help now more than ever.

I will be attempting a rather hilly Half Ironman (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle, 13.1 mile run) in and around the Cornish coast finishing at lands end, and would hugely appreciate any support for this fantastic cause.

Thank you!
