DeutscheBike 2025 - Slovenia and Italy

Theo Georgiou is raising money for Dementia UK
This September, a group of Deutsche Bank employees will take on an epic cycle in Slovenia and Italy to raise vital funds to support families facing dementia.

Story

In mid-September, a group of Deutsche Bank colleagues, including myself, will undertake a demanding cycling journey across Slovenia and Italy. Collectively, we will cover over 500 kilometres and face numerous challenging ascents in support of Deutsche Bank’s charity of the year, Dementia UK. We are honoured to participate in this initiative to make a meaningful contribution; furthermore, all donations made in support of our effort will be matched by Deutsche Bank up to £1,000, thereby doubling the effect of every contribution.

Over the past several months, ever since committing to this adventure, I have dedicated myself to a rigorous training regimen. My preparation has included regular cycling and running sessions, pushing my endurance with rides as long as 200 kilometres in a single day and multiple outings exceeding 100 kilometres. This commitment to training reflects not only my dedication to the challenge ahead but also my desire to honour the cause we are supporting.

Dementia affects one in two people, including many within the Deutsche Bank community and their families. Funds raised through this partnership will support Dementia UK’s specialist Admiral Nurses, increasing the availability of expert dementia care. Through fundraising and skills sharing, our goal is to help fund 30 new Admiral Nurses over the next two years, enabling an additional 3,000 families to access vital support.
