Like so many people we wondered how we could help the people in Ukraine, and then we discovered Pick-Ups For Peace (a charity run by volunteers from the UK farming community). In the last year they've sent over 300 pickups filled with aid to Ukraine and they've committed to delivering pick-ups till the conflict is over. All the donated trucks have provided valuable support on the ground to aid the effort in Ukraine.

We are going to be driving a pick-up (which has already been purchased), filled with humanitarian aid, all the way from the West Country across to Europe and then on a 1,404 mile trip to Ukraine. Clare and her nephew Sam will be doing the driving, 10 year old William will be on entertainment duty to keep us going!

Clare was asked why she would take her son on such a trip, as it's not entirely safe BUT William has classmates who fled Ukraine leaving their dads behind to fight and he wants to do something to get families back together again.

Medical and humanitarian supplies

Frontline medical Aid: £8 buys a trauma dressing, or a splint, £10 pays for a chest seal, £30 pays for a Tourniquet kit, £90 pays for a medics trauma bag.

Wellbeing: Protein Bars, Sports Water bottles, thermal cups, backpacks, thermal socks, dry showers, wet wipes.

Fuel, accommodation and return flights

And we also want to ask locals in the area if they have any repair tools, spades, pickaxes, shovels, chainsaws, they can donate
