The Rare Breeds Survival Trust exists to conserve and promote our native British livestock breeds. Whether sheep, cattle, horses, pigs or poultry, these animals are a huge part of the UK’s agricultural heritage and a vital genetic resource to our agricultural future.

Story

Every year the Animal management students at Banbury and Bicester College raise money for the RBST (Rare Breed Survival Trust) We host a range of activities every year to raise money for important research, which helps our rare breeds.

The RBST is a UK-based charity that specialises in British breeds, the money raised will go towards activities for example conservation grazing, which promotes biodiversity and is healthier and provides a better quality of life for the animals as opposed to alternatives. The charity plays a role in educating people about different issues our native breeds are facing and what they do to prevent the extinction of our breeds.

The RBST also has a UK national gene bank to ensure animals can be as genetically diverse as possible to ensure their survival. This gene bank ensures the survival of native breeds.

Thank you for reading our page. Any donations are greatly appreciated and you are supporting the most endangered breeds in the world and helping a very good cause.
