Story

Hi everyone,

I am once more sticking on the armour for a charity Walk.

This time it's on behalf of the UNISON charity ThereForYou!

As a Welfare Officer for UNISON myself it is a charity very close to my heart. ThereForTou provides a variety of essential services and help to UNISON members and their dependents such as Cold weather and School Uniform Grants, Seasonal Food Fund's. It also provides financial assistance for members facing Financial difficulties, Well Being Breaks and general and confidential advice for members if they experiencing personal difficulties. Over the years it has proved invaluable to members who have found themselves in need of our services.

I'll be walking from Moodiesburn to Falkirk via Kirkintiloch on 1st November 2025 along the the Forth and Clyde Canal which also follows the the line of the Antonine Wall. Any donations would be very much appreciated.

This October (2025) we're encouraging Unison members all over Scotland to take on the step count challenge and raise funds for Unison's Welfare Charity ThereForYou.

The aim is for members and their families to get active and walk around 10,000 steps a day and achieve at least 300k steps for the month of October. Other activities can be counted too using our step count conversion table.
