Story
I am running for Team Mission United in tribute for my family members who have served our country and in loving memory of my next door neighbor, "Mr.John". Mr. John was a constant presence throughout my childhood - joining us for family celebrations, sharing incredible stories from his time in service, and becoming a cherished part of our lives. One of my family's most treasured keepsakes is a photo he gave us, sitting on top of an Anzio Cannon, which still hangs in our home as a reminder of his courage, kindness, and the memories we share. He truly embodied the United Way Mission; caring for every person in our neighborhood, volunteering as an usher in our local church, and always offering a helping hand. His example taught me that making a difference often starts right where you live, with simple acts of compassion and inclusion. Running for Team Mission United is not just an athletic endeavor for me - it is a chance to honor those who have served, to recognize a beloved neighbor's legacy of giving and to promote a cause that uplifts communities through unity, support, and service.
