Story
Okay, I’m totally exposing myself writing this post 🥺 and it might be a bit of a long one, so bear with me. 🤍
Losing my brother Paul four months ago completely broke me, and if I’m honest, I think I’ll always feel a little bit broken. I know I’m probably not alone in my family feeling like this.
For a while, I was really struggling and didn’t think I was ever going to pull myself out of it. Then one morning I woke up with this overwhelming need to do something in Paul’s memory.
I feel like I am in a ever ending cycle of grief after loosing my mum, my dad then Paul and lately running has helped me cope with that 🤍So… I decided to apply for the London Marathon 😭…Now I know what you’re thinking… “But Paul couldn’t even run!” 🥴😭 …but that’s just a small blip in my plan🤣
Today I found out I’ve been offered a place in the London Marathon 2027 to run for Marie Curie. ❤️
Cancer has affected my family for so many years, and sadly it still is. Marie Curie is an incredible charity that does so much for patients and their families. Through my job, I also refer patients to Marie Curie and have had the opportunity to visit one of their wellbeing centres and see first-hand the amazing work they do. It honestly makes me feel so honoured to be running for them.
If running this marathon gives me the chance to raise money for such an amazing cause while also talking about Paul to anyone who’ll listen, then that’s an absolute bonus. ♥️
I have a fundraising target of £3,000, so if you’re able to donate—even just £1—I would be so incredibly grateful. Every single donation will mean the world to me.
I also apologise in advance for all the fundraising ideas that are about to come your way… 😭😂
Here’s to the fundraising… and the training. 🥴💪🏼❤️
For you, Paul. 🤍
