Story
Thank you so much for visiting our page. We are raising money in loving memory of our beautiful boy, Pádraig, to support the incredible team at the Royal Victoria Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Pádraig’s Story
Pádraig was born prematurely at 26 weeks on 23rd September 2025 and although his time with us was short—we spent four precious days with him that changed our lives forever. During that time, the NICU team provided him with a lifetime of care. They worked tirelessly with such tenderness, dignity, and skill, ensuring he was surrounded by love and given the best medical support.
We want to honor Pádraig’s memory by giving back to the heroes who looked after him. Every mile run and every penny raised is a thank you to the unit for the incredible dedication they show to every baby and family, no matter how long or short their stay may be.

The Challenge
To honor Pádraig’s strength, we have two amazing teams running in his memory. Ryan’s proud cousins Emma and Karen and their wonderful friends, Laura and Kirstie are the first team. Pádraig's amazing Auntie Grace and Uncle Tommy and their wonderful friends are the second team who are running a relay. All of which will come together at the Belfast Marathon on Sunday 3rd May.
Training for a marathon is a massive undertaking, but every mile they run is fueled by the memory of Pádraig. They are swapping rest days for long runs and sore muscles, all to make sure Pádraig’s legacy helps other little fighters in the NICU.

A Heartfelt Thank You
Whether it’s £5 or £50, every single donation brings us closer to our goal and keeps Pádraig’s memory shining bright. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page with your friends and family—it means the world to us.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to Emma, Karen, Laura, Kirstie, Grace, Tommy and their relay team. We are deeply moved that you are taking on the marathon in his memory. Seeing you all come together for him gives us so much strength, and we are so proud to have you representing Pádraig’s legacy.
Thank you for helping us turn our love for Pádraig into a lifeline for others.
Let’s get ready to cheer everyone on, on the 3rd May!
Thanks, Therese and Ryan Hyland (Pádraig’s parents).
