Organised and spearheaded by our very own Richard Higgins, the Thermocable team will be participating in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks walk, to raise money for Down's Syndrome North East.

Down’s Syndrome North East is the leading organisation for the help and support of all people with Down’s Syndrome and their families and friends. Covering Northumberland, Tyneside, Wearside, Durham and Teesside, the charity holds a special place in the heart of our Production Manager, Stan Glassbrook and his family. Stan's beautiful 2 year old granddaughter, Hope, has Down's Syndrome. Hope's family have been supported by Down's Syndrome North East - and as a result, we'd like to give something back! We will also be welcoming Stan's wife, Viv, to the challenge.

So, we will be donning our walking boots, packing our waterproofs (just in case), and walking 24.46 miles, starting at Horton in Ribblesdale going up Pen-y-ghent across to Whernside up/down , then across to Inglebourgh. Then, in Richard's words, we will be back across the moors for a well-earned pint of our choosing!

We are all very excited (and a bit nervous) for this challenge, and to be supporting such a worthwhile cause.
