Story
Tower Hamlets Welcomes is a partnership between The Salvation Army in Stepney and Bethnal Green Mission Church. We are a community sponsorship and advocacy group that aims to support and promote the resettlement and inclusion of refugees and other newcomers to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
In 2026 we will be resettling a family with refugee status, selected for us by the UNHCR and UK Government Home Office. We need funds to prepare the house so it can become a home for the family and to help meet their integration needs.
The money that is given will be spent in a way that shows dignity to the family and provide the essentials in their home so that they can live well from the start of their resettlement.
Please help us to make this family feel welcome by giving generously.
Any funds given in excess of the amount needed to directly support this resettlement will be used to support future community-led welcome activities carried out by Tower Hamlets Welcomes in the borough.
The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction.
