Story
Our mission is to support young people and marginalised individuals to earn a sustainable livelihood. We work with partners in Ghana, Malawi, Uganda and Zambia to run training projects which enable people to learn a trade. With the help of hundreds of volunteers in the UK, we collect and refurbish donated hand tools, electrical tools and sewing machines to send directly to our projects, or to sell and raise vital project funds. Provided with an appropriate tool kit, trainees are able to start earning a living straight away from their trade. The funds raised by the members and followers of The Sew Happy Quilters' Association , will go towards funding girls in these developing countries be trained as Tailors so they can have their own sewing businesses.
