Running has suddenly become quite serious, in light of being given a spot in the London Marathon for next year ✨ Yep, that’s right - little old me will be running 26.2 miles across central London in April 2026. I’ve totally got this right? Luckily for me, the charity I’ve chosen to run for is one super close to my heart so rest assured, I’ll be crossing that finish line even if I’m barely crawling across it by the end 👏🏻 Every last step will be for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and honestly? There is no one else I’d rather run for 💚 The child abuse I’ve been exposed to as a paediatric nurse can keep me up some nights and some little faces will be forever imprinted on my brain, due to the vicarious trauma that comes hand in hand with my work. At times you can feel so powerless and it sucks, so when I applied for this marathon spot with the NSPCC it was my way of taking a little power back and doing something more. I’ll be working as hard as I possibly can over the next 10 months, to make sure I’m as prepared for this crazy experience as I possibly can be and I can’t wait to take everyone along for the ride!
