Story
Welcome to our Just Giving Page. The title roles really rolls off the tongue doesn't it. This year the Accenture UKI Sustainability Hub will be braving the National Three Peaks Challenge! Climbing 3,298m and walking over 26 miles, 50 of our team members will be raising money for the Refugee Community Kitchen (RCK).
Our goal is to raise a whopping £10,000 for our partners. To do this we'll be sleeping on buses, crossing three countries in two days and trekking through rain or sunshine (pray for sunshine please).
The sustainability hub's relationship with RCK goes back many years, with our team members volunteering at RCK kitchen's across London.
Who are the Refugee Community Kitchen and what's their story?
RCK could no longer stand by and watch people living in horrid conditions in makeshift camps in Europe, so the four of them came together to offer assistance in the form of nourishing meals and access to fresh food daily. They pooled their skills and their resourceful friends and set up a communal kitchen to support people living in the Calais refugee camps and beyond. Since the 1st of December 2015 Refugee Community Kitchen has served over two million meals. They also serve hot food five nights a week at multiple points in London, reaching over 1500 people daily. They are committed to showing up rain or shine, and doing everything they can to make sure that no one goes hungry.
The RCK's grassroots activism and empathy for humanity is exactly why we have chosen to support them.
What will our donation do?
With the money Accenture is able to raise, RCK will be able to fund an new kitchen in London significantly increasing the number of people they can support.
What better way to bring together the value based heart of the Sustainability Hub than being out in nature and raising money for our partner charity.
If you'd like a little more information on RCK or if you'd like to volunteer at one of their London kitchens, check them out here:

As a sustainability hub, it is important to us to mitigate our own carbon footprint during this challenge. To do this we have elected to drive only between locations and will be offsetting our carbon.
We and the RCK thank you greatly for your donation.
