We are raising money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath. It provides round-the-clock specialised care for premature and sick newborn babies.

This charity hits especially close to home for us, as our nephew Tommy was born prematurely this year and the fantastic team at NICU helped enormously. Along with ours, NICU has also helped care for another 3 sets of Family's within the shoes team and close friends, so we know how truly appreciated & needed the money is.

Every year for the FRINGE (aka SHOESFEST) we hold a pub quiz, this year every £2pp entry fee will be donated to the NICU ward! The quiz will be held on Tuesday 25th August from 7pm. Seats fill up fast, so get down early.

On Wednesday 26th August Grandlord Saun is coming out of retirement for one day only for Saun in the Stocks - Come throw water soaked sponges at him for an amazing cause.

Also, as September is NICU awareness month, on the 26th September, our landlord Callum will be running the Gower Ultra Bach; A 34-mile ultramarathon covering two-thirds of the coast from Llandimore to Mumbles. Hard paths give way to rolling cliff tops, soft trails, dunes, and hidden coves. This is a self-navigated event, and runners are expected to use a combination of: GPS trace, Wales Coast Path signs and Route map and instructions. Callum will be running amongst a few other members of the Shoes Run Club on the day.

Babies born too soon or too unwell need specialist support, advanced technology, and constant expert attention. Behind every incubator is a family facing an unexpected and emotional journey—one that requires compassion, reassurance, and hope.
