This year, we wanted to take on a sporting challenge to raise money in support of Manchester Mind.

We narrowed it down to two options; A marathon, or a tough mudder. After some great deliberation and maybe one too many pints in the pub one night, we have decided to do both... at the same time.

Yep, on 26th July we'll be tackling 42 gruelling kilometres over rolling Yorkshire hills, thick mud and 60+ obstacles all designed to break our physical strength and mental grit. Sounds fun right?

Tough Mudder creates hardcore obstacle courses with the most innovative 5k & 15k courses, attracting millions of participants worldwide.

Now, the eagle-eyed mathematicians reading this may be thinking: "The maximum course length is 15k, a marathon is nearly triple that distance?"

Well, that's why we'll be doing it three times, in the same day, one lap after the other. Let me introduce you to Tough Mudder Infinity.

In the words of the Tough Mudder organisers: "The Infinity Endurance Series is made up of the most unforgiving events, in the ultimate test of your toughness and grit. Run as many laps of our legendary obstacle course as your legs will allow in 8 hours (with wickedly inventive penalties) to discover just how far you can bend your boundaries."

Why are we doing this?

A few years ago we lost one of our best friends at the age of just 19 years old. Ever since, we have been dedicated to not only remembering him, but also doing what we can to open up the conversation around mental health; especially in young adults.

We are extremely proud partners of Manchester Mind; A local, independent charity, which supports the mental health of over 7,000 children, young people and adults each year.

The donations raised by our community will help aid the many staff and volunteers who work so hard to deliver outstanding services and make a real difference to help the lives of those who need it.
