WE’RE RUNNING A 150+ MILE CONTINUOUS RELAY ACROSS THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF NORTHERN ENGLAND!
Yep. Over one HUNDRED and fifty miles. From one side of the country t’other. No shortcuts, no Ubers (we checked).
--------------------
On Saturday, 6th June, we’re running across the full width of Northern England.
Four friends. 150+ miles. One hell of a route.
Starting at Whitby Lighthouse, North Yorkshire and finishing outside Chester FC Stadium at the Welsh border.
Pier, to pitch.
East coast, to goalpost.
Seaside, to Sealand Road.
We’ll be following a continuous relay format with a team of 4 runners. This means tag-teaming the miles, sharing the leg cramps, and probably arguing over why Charley keeps getting the flattest sections.
Why? Glad you asked.
We’re doing it for charity — because our philosophy here at th;nkers project, is that if you’re going to risk causing yourself actual bodily harm, you may as well do some good for others whilst you’re at it.
A few years ago we tragically lost one of our best friends at the age of just 19 years old to suicide. Ever since, it’s been our mission to not only forever remember him, but to open up the conversation around mental health and remove the stigma so that young adults feel comfortable and able to talk. Talking saves lives.
Manchester Mind are an incredible charity and we couldn’t be prouder to be partnered with them. These opportunities simply wouldn’t exist without them. They support over 11,000 young people and adults each year. We believe that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health and we want to make it easier to ask for help. Donations from fantastic supporters make a real difference, so thank you for ensuring we can continue to be there for people when they need it the most.
