Since writing this, the wonderful and bloody hilarious Tony Berrett has sadly passed away. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. I will be running in his honour on Sunday for him and my Halifax Berrett family 🫶🏻

I’m running the Manchester Marathon for Mind, a charity I’ve passionately supported for the past 10 years. Mental health struggles aren’t always visible, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I believe in showing up for those who need help, even when we can’t physically see their pain.

On a personal note, I discovered running again at a time when my own mental health was at its lowest. After a period of navigating big life changes, I felt lost. Moving my body and showing up for myself became a lifeline — giving me more than I could have ever imagined. Setting myself challenges became my way of proving to myself that I’m stronger than I know.

From being a non-runner to someone who now runs regularly, I’ve found an incredible community in Manchester Road Runners 🟢⚪️ —a group of the loveliest, kindest, and funniest people. My 'Running Friends' have been a huge source of support and as we approach race day, I’m challenging myself even further by going 8 weeks booze-free. For those who know me well… that might just be the toughest challenge yet!

So on April 27th, I’ll lace up my trainers—not just for myself, but for anyone who needs to hear this: one step at a time, you can achieve more than you think.
