Story
Over the next few months, along side friends and family, I am going to be running two half marathons as well as the 2025 London Marathon to raise money for the charity Sarcoma UK.
I’m running to raise money in memory of my dad, Charlie, who was diagnosed in 2020, and whom we lost to Sarcoma in 2023. My dad decided to run the London marathon in 2022 to raise money for the Charity, and in his wake my family alongside friends have started a fund called Team Chazza, to continue his legacy and help spread awareness of these rarer types of cancer.
Sarcoma is a lethal type of cancer that starts in bones or soft tissues. Every day, 15 people are diagnosed with sarcoma in the UK. That’s about 5,300 people a year.
Sarcoma is underfunded in research compared to other cancer types, donating will help fund research, help lines, and spread awareness about the cancer, as recognising it early can drastically improve chances of survival.
My aim is to run the half marathons in under 1:30h, and the London marathon in a sub 3:30h time, to try achieve raising £10,000 for the charity.
