Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice provide specialist palliative care to adults and children across the Fylde Coast and much needed support for their families. Our services are available free of charge, but with limited government funding we need to raise £14 million every year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’ve decided I want to take myself completely out of my comfort zone and raise money for Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospital by doing a 64 mile bike ride in memory of my Dad who sadly passed away in March this year at the age of 64 after a very short battle with cancer.

The loss of my dad was completely unexpected, it’s broken our hearts completely, he was a loving and devoted husband, caring father, adoring granddad and special friend to so many, this is something we’ll probably never come to terms with, although with that said it would give me great pride in giving back to the people that looked after him and us so incredibly, and that’s Trinity Hospice.

I've got two clear goals;

1. Try and generate as much awareness as possible around cancer, ensuring enough is being done for everybody to have appropriate measures in place to detect the illness as early as possible to give people the best chance of survival/longevity

2. Make sure places like Trinity Hospice, who provide such gold standard care, are supported in keeping their doors open and continue to care for people like they cared for my Dad.

Having experienced Trinity Hospice first hand, there’s simply nobody else I’d want to do something like this for. Their care and dedication to families and individuals is nothing short of breathtaking, through the most difficult time of my family’s life they made us feel safe, loved, cared for, educated and comforted. There really aren’t enough words that exist to express my gratitude.

With that said, I’m taking myself through this physical challenge, I’ve never cycled before, I’m incredibly unfit, 64 miles is a mile for every year of my dad’s life, this will take us from Ambleside (ish) back to Blackpool, but if I can make a difference and raise money to go towards such an incredible facility like Trinity then I’ll give it my everything.

I know how much Trinity & Brian House mean to so many, I hope this is enough influence for you to support me with this challenge. I’ve not set a target for this challenge, whatever we achieve I’ll be completely grateful and I know Trinity Hospice will be as well

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you join me on my fundraising journey.
