Story
On 17th March I will be running the Wigan half marathon. This will be the first time I have ever attempted something like this having only taken to running during the pandemic and it is a bit of a terrifying prospect.
I will be doing this to raise money for EverMore dog rescue, an amazing charity staffed completely by volunteers who give up huge chunks of their own time and are constantly scrambling for donations just to keep helpless dogs warm and fed in Romania where they have no prospect of adoption before they can be transported to the UK and adopted.
On a personal note, this charity means a lot to me having adopted my 2 dogs Neville and Seamus, both of whom owe their lives to the wonderful work of EverMore. Neville was found as a very young puppy with his mother and the rest of his litter who were all dead, thought to be at the hands of a local farmer. Thanks to the amazing work of EverMore and lots of patience, Neville has gone from a puppy who would permanently hide and shake in the presence of humans to the most softly affectionate dog I have ever known. Seamus was given up as a puppy by owners twice before the age of 1 and would have had no future without EverMore taking him in and finding him a home.
Please donate what you can to help their work and give future to hundreds of neglected dogs, even if you just enjoy the prospect of me suffering during this half marathon.
