Story
Hi All,
This year, I am taking on the incredible challenge of running the London Marathon in support of Bowel Cancer UK. As most of you will know, this is a charity very close to my heart following my Dad’s successful fight with Bowel Cancer back in 2021.
Every step I take will not only be for him, but for all those who have been affected by cancer, for the families who’ve faced the diagnosis, the loved ones who have tragically been lost, and the many people currently fighting this awful disease.
Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers, with almost 44,000 people being diagnosed every year in the UK, and one person tragically losing their fight every 30 minutes on average, yet when caught early it’s one of the most treatable. That’s why I’m so enthusiastic about supporting Bowel Cancer UK, a charity that funds research, improves early detection, and provides vital care and support for patients and their families. Your donations, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference in helping to improve lives and bring hope to those affected. Working together, we can help ensure more people get the support and treatment they deserve.
Running the London Marathon is more than just a personal goal, it’s a way to support a fantastic charity who are fighting daily to defeat this awful disease. I’ll be thinking of everyone touched by Bowel Cancer with every mile I run. If they can fight cancer and all the nasties that come with it, I can do this!
We must get talking about our Bowels! Let’s drop the stigma, and spread awareness ! Your support means the world to me; any donation will be greatly appreciated and will assist in Bowel Cancers UK’s fight in beating cancer.
How your donation could help make a difference:
• £10 could deliver an awareness talk
• £25 could provide an hour’s expert nurse support on our Ask the
Nurse service
• £50 could help support policy work to improve bowel screening
Thank you so much for your support and I will see you at the finish line (hopefully in one piece!)
