Story
Thanks for your support with my London Marathon challenge!
After running two marathons in the last couple of years, in 2024 I wanted to challenge myself to run at home, in the London marathon and raise money for a good cause. Having had a number of family members and friends affected by various vision problems I was delighted to be accepted onto the RNIB's London 2024 team! Knowing that I am supporting this fantastic charity with their work supporting those with sight loss is really giving me an extra push with the marathon training plan (which is quite full on!)
One of my other hobbies is reading, and one of my absolute favourite ways to spend a weekend afternoon is to go on a long run with a good audiobook to listen to. Meeting my fundraising target could contribute towards supporting a new adult book in the RNIB Talking Books Library, enabling a person with sight loss to enjoy the latest best seller.
Every day, 250 people in the UK start losing their sight, and too many still face isolation and depression, unable to achieve their potential in a world that blocks their way. RNIB wont stop until every last psychological and physical barrier has gone for good.
With your help, RNIB can be there when people need them most, supporting independent living, create an inclusive society and preventing avoidable sight loss. Every pound you donate is helping create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.
If you are able to, please do consider supporting my fundraising for the RNIB. Many thanks for your support.
Thomas
