Help Sonny Get the Therapy He Needs

Our amazing friend Tom, along with James, Warren, and Stuart, are taking on an incredible challenge to raise money for our son Sonny, so he can attend Constraint Therapy in Truro next summer.

Constraint Therapy is a specialist technique that has already helped Sonny make great progress in using his right arm. It involves three hours a day with an occupational therapist, while his stronger arm is gently constrained in a cast. This encourages him to use and strengthen his weaker arm — improving his ability to grasp objects, support with both hands, and gain confidence in everyday tasks.

Sonny’s journey is ongoing. He still struggles with confidence and is often hesitant to try things that require both hands. This therapy will give him the best possible chance to thrive at school and in daily life — but it comes at a cost.

Sadly, the NHS doesn’t fund Constraint Therapy, even though it’s recommended. The full course costs £7,000. To keep costs down, we’ll travel from home to Truro (a two-hour round trip) each day instead of staying over.

To help make this possible, Tom and James are taking on the legendary 3 Peaks Challenge — but with an epic twist: they’ll be cycling between the mountains too! They’ll be supported by Warren Oak, their mountain leader and Stuart Cooper all-around legend.

The challenge includes climbing the tallest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis - 1,344m), England (Scafell Pike - 978m), and Wales (Snowdon - 1,085m), cycling between each one — an enormous feat of endurance and determination.
