Story
Dear Friends,
I’m excited, breathless and more than a little nervous to share that I’ll be running the London Marathon on 27 April 2025!
This isn’t just any marathon for me. Along with being my first, it’s a race to support a cause I deeply care about: supporting efforts to protect our precious planet through the wonderful work done by with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
We are increasingly seeing everyday and everywhere, how the natural world is facing serious threats, and the repercussions of our unsustainable engagement with nature.
WWF continues to do incredible work to tackle these challenges head-on, from influencing and advising global business, finance and policymakers to working with local communities and educating the next generation. I have witnessed firsthand the impact their work has throughout my career, across society, business, finance and policy making circles.
I have always believed in the power of individual actions in supporting collective change. That is why I’m dusting off and lacing up my running shoes and taking on this iconic marathon, to both raise awareness and support for WWF’s crucial work.
Running a marathon is a huge personal challenge and one I honestly thought I’d never do, but knowing that I’m contributing to something bigger than myself will keep me motivated come wind, rain or sun when training.
Every step I take and every mile I clock off will be driven by the thought of supporting work that is making a real difference for our planet, people and other species.
I would be incredibly grateful for your support in this journey, not matter how much. Whether it’s through a donation or tips and tricks of running a marathon, your encouragement means the world to me.
Thank you for believing in this cause - our cause - and for being part of this blood, sweat and tear-filled adventure with me.
Best,
Thomas
