On 14 March 2020, we lost our friend Thomas “Tam” Agnew to Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Tam was quick witted, incredibly smart and had a sense of humour that could light up any room. He loved music, was Celtic daft and above all else, he adored his three daughters, affectionately known as his three little birds.

After being diagnosed with MND, Tam worked closely with the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Research, believing wholeheartedly in the importance of research and the hope it could bring to others facing this devastating disease.

Heartbreakingly, Tam’s sister, Angela has since also been diagnosed with MND and continues to support the work of the Euan MacDonald Centre.

To honour Tam’s memory and support Angela. Tam’s Team: Tonto on Tinto will be taking on a sponsored walk up Tinto Hill.

Every step we take is for Tam, for Angela, for their family and for everyone whose lives have been touched by Motor Neurone Disease.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help fund vital research into improving treatments and, one day, finding a cure.

Doctors and scientists at the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research undertake vital research into motor neuron disease (MND); a condition that causes muscle weakness and paralysis, difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing.

Your donation will help us find treatments to slow, stop and reverse the effects of MND.

All donations are processed through the University of Edinburgh Development Trust before going directly to the Euan MacDonald Centre.
