Story
Please support Thomas Vaughan & Friends in the Welsh 3 Peaks + 180 Challenge for Kidney Research UK
On Saturday 17th May 2025, our team will be taking on the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge, with a difference:
We’ll be carrying a total of 180 litres of red coloured water ('blood') across the three summits, symbolising the amount of blood healthy kidneys process each day. This is all in aid of Kidney Research UK, a charity very close to our hearts.
Our son Dan developed meningococcal septicaemia in 2020, which led to chronic kidney disease. Dan will need to have a kidney transplant in the near future and we’re doing this challenge to raise awareness for the vital research Kidney Research UK is funding. We're also hoping someone might be inspired to consider becoming a living donor to Dan***
You can read more about Dan's story and Kidney Research UK's work on their official website, or by following the link below.
We’re taking on this 24-hour challenge with a team of dedicated individuals, including friends who’ve already gone through the living donor process to try and find Dan a kidney match. We are also being joined by more great people to help us at the 'finale' at Pen-y-Fan.
How You Can Help:
Every donation counts towards supporting the incredible work of Kidney Research UK in advancing kidney disease research and potentially helping people like Dan.
