Again I have not trained well, again I've come out of running retirement to do my bit for Matthew's House and the guests we support through the project! Each year i say this is the last (I'm a terrible runner and find no joy in it!) but then I remember what it is for. I'm privileged to get alongside people in tough moments and help them battle back. To be part of an incredible team who help to catch people when they fall and direct people through some of life's toughest moments.

What is Matthew's House?

Matthews House exists to provide a warm and welcoming building in the heart of Swansea, with the expressed intention of being accessible for the homeless and most vulnerable in Swansea. We aim for it to have the feel of a home where hospitality is experienced by all who enter the doors, regardless of their background, beliefs or circumstances. This hospitality is demonstrated through expressions, including a pay-as-you-feel waste food café called Matts Café, a shower and laundry facility, dignity packs for people living in poverty, a smartphone app called Hope in Swansea, a one-to-one advocacy scheme called Matt's Buddies, and a community choir.
