Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Thompsons Solicitors Wales and South West are committed to raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.

Our fundraising began on 24 April 2024 with a regional cake sale and raffle and will continue on 29 June 2024 with colleagues from across the region climbing Pen y Fan – the highest peak in South Wales.

This charity is close to our hearts as one of our long-serving colleagues was diagnosed with MS in 2010.

It is estimated that there are over 130,000 people with MS in the UK, and each year, nearly 7,000 people are newly diagnosed. MS affects individuals uniquely; no two people will have the same type of symptoms or have them as badly.

Our colleague’s MS story began long before diagnosis with numerous health challenges such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve surgeries, tinnitus with slight hearing loss, and chronic fatigue.

The road to diagnosis included Optic Neuritis and navigation of the complex process to find the right disease modifying drug (DMD). Thirteen years post diagnosis and whilst managing well our colleague’s daily life remains a challenge due to residual symptoms from past relapses.

The MS Society are a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, volunteers and fundraisers who understand what life with MS is like, support each other and drive research into better treatments for everyone.

Thank you for your support and generosity in helping those affected by MS live better lives.
