Story
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Thompsons Teeth is proud to be raising money to support an important cause that affects so many individuals, families and communities. 💗
Cancer impacts far more than just physical health, and one area that is often overlooked is oral health. Cancer itself, as well as treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, can have a significant impact on the mouth, teeth and gums. Side effects can include a dry mouth, mouth ulcers, sore or sensitive gums, changes in taste, an increased risk of tooth decay and difficulty eating, drinking or speaking comfortably. These challenges can have a real impact on a person’s everyday life, comfort and confidence.
As a dental practice, we understand just how important oral health is to overall wellbeing. We want to help shine a light on the connection between cancer treatment and oral health, encourage conversations that might otherwise be overlooked, and help people understand the importance of maintaining good oral care before, during and after treatment.
Raising awareness is about more than wearing a pink ribbon. It’s about educating others, encouraging people to seek advice, supporting those affected by cancer and reminding everyone that even the smallest act of kindness or contribution can make a difference.
We know that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a story. By fundraising this month, we hope to contribute towards a cause that means so much to so many and help spread a little more awareness, support and hope. 🎀
From everyone at Thompsons Teeth, thank you for supporting us and helping us make a difference. Every donation, share and conversation counts. 💗
