THOR's fundraiser for Arthritis UK

THOR Society is raising money for Arthritis UK

Fun Run & Bake Sale · 18 October 2026

We’re the 10 million people living with arthritis in the UK. The carers, researchers and healthcare professionals. The family, friends and fundraisers. United by a clear vision: a future free from arthritis. One in which no one is limited by the pain, fatigue and isolation that arthritis can cause.

Story

Aberdeen THOR Society: Bone Health Week - Fundraising for Arthritis UK

We, the University of Aberdeen Trauma Healthcare, Orthopaedics, and Rheumatology (THOR) Society, are proud to raise funds for Arthritis UK in support of Bone Health Week 2026!

As medical students and budding orthopods, we see firsthand the vital importance of maintaining healthy bones and joints, preventing musculoskeletal damage, and improving quality of life. Bone and joint health isn't just something we study in textbooks; it's fundamental to how people move, work, and live without pain.

Why We Are Raising Funds

Over 10 million people in the UK live with arthritis, significantly impacting their ability to work, study, care for loved ones, and live independently*.

Arthritis UK funds ground-breaking, life-changing research, provides crucial support for those affected, and actively campaigns for policy change. They won't rest until everyone living with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need, with the ultimate goal of a cure in the future.

Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference. Thank you so much for your generosity and support! 🦴🏃‍♂️🧁
